It is one of my most favorite songs. I think the sentiment would be perfect for a spring wedding. It is a wonderful metaphor connecting the growing of a flower and the growing of love, don't you think? Either way, your card is so beautiful!Monica K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11426275775507247478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3915920938292402065.post-16279569658119689972011-01-04T17:18:54.741+11:002011-01-04T17:18:54.741+11:00Jen, it didn't make a difference that you didn...Jen, it didn't make a difference that you didn't know what was meant by 'bloom and grow forever' when you made the card. It still turned out lovely. And I think that your design works beautifully with the sentiment.

I believe Dawn chose that sentiment because it comes from one of her favorite musicals, The Sound of Music. The phrase comes from the song Edelweiss and is political in nature, symbolizing Captain von Trapp's belief that Austria will overcome the Nazi invaders. The lyrics are simple and quite lovely. All that aside, I could see it being used for any type of relationship - lovers, child, even friendship.nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07523325234783449866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3915920938292402065.post-59318226645407086272011-01-04T11:02:40.145+11:002011-01-04T11:02:40.145+11:00I have no idea what it means either and I hadn'...I have no idea what it means either and I hadn't even thought about it until you pointed it out Jen! I love the shape, and the colors are so beautiful together too.

The first thing that comes to mind when I see that sentiment (besides Edelweiss) is for graduation, or maybe more specifically, what comes after. It makes me think of starting college, or starting your first job; kind of a personal blooming of your life, if that makes sense? Also, I think it would be a good wedding sentiment, in that you hope their love and relationship is always growing? I think it's a beautiful sentiment, even if it's a bit hard to understand. ;)Beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02500709732439147387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3915920938292402065.post-31578474436678553772011-01-04T05:08:56.503+11:002011-01-04T05:08:56.503+11:00Great card. I love the card and to me, bloom and grow forever fits all of us crafters who are trying new things, learning new techniques and stretching ourselves in new directions in our crafting hobby. Of coursse, I think of everything in terms of stamping and crafting these days. It probably means something totally different. Great card. B...This card is so pretty and unique in its shape! Bloom & Grow forever...I think it is a type of encouragement sentiment. Like keep on keeping on, keep up the good work. It can be about personal growth too I think. So it would be appropriate for someone who is striving for a goal or working to "better" themselves in some way. I think it is also appropriate for wishing someone well, kind of like a blessing of some sort which would make it appropriate for a friend.
