Papertrey Ink's May 2011 Blog Hop.

The theme for this month's blog hop is all about flowers.   But at the moment I am not really into a floral groove and this posed a slight problem when it came to creating a card entry for this month's hop.  Hmmm? Especially since I have been having such fun working with more muted vintage-y colors and a muted vintage flower can look, um, er, like it needs to be tossed out in my humble opinion, seeing that they are less than vibrant and look as if they are about to give up the ghost, more to the point.  I am sure I could have come up with something a bit jazzier than I did if I prepped for this hop before today (funny that).  Yes, looks like Last Minute Larreena has struck again.  Nevermind.  I did manage though to come up something courtesy of Papertrey Ink's Aloha stamp set that I hope will be somewhat passable and still nods to my current penchant for all things postal and vintage-a-licious.  Plus, I had fun.  So, fingers crossed. *wink*

Thanks so much for hopping by!

Jen, I actually think this card has a very vintge feel to it. Kind of like WWII, Pearl Harbor kind of feeling. I love that palm tree and the coloring on the flower is gorgeous. You have a definite style and it comes out whether you intend it to or not! Perfect floral card for the blog hop.

Great card! I like the combination of images; the palm tree/flower/postcard/sentiment. It all work so well. And the detail on the postcard is so fun - now why have I never thought actually writing something onto postimages?! Brilliant!

I haven't gotten around to commenting very much on this blog hop, but HAD to come see your creation. Knew you would rock the flower challenge, Jen! I love how the little postcard is tucked behind that lovely dahlia, and the dp with the palm and the added twine are perfect touches for your vintage beachy theme!
